Let customers speak for us
from 25 reviewsJust received my MEGA1581, in Australia.
It looks excellent with the MEGA65.
Works really well with the MEGA65 and other Commodore cores.
Glad I purchased it! Thank you for creating this beauty!
This thing is excellent. Its nice having one of these that are only works on my mega 65 but also on my Commodore computer
This is a beautiful keyboard. I really like how the LEDs are integrated into the keyboard with the light pipes attached to the upper cover and fit the a1200.net case perfectly. This makes removal of your upper cover very easy. The black and charcoal keys look amazing in a black case.
Building an A1200 with some modern comforts and thought it might be nice to have a mechboard. Ordered this online due to the slightly different keycaps coloring and am I ever happy. Dropped in easily and looks fantastic. Waiting on a few more items before I can power this up, but love the way this keyboard looks.
Package arrived in excellent condition. This is a wonderful double disk drive exactly matching the description. Perfect addition to my C128 setup!
I love my 1581s, such a well crafted and authentic reproduction. I ordered it to use with my C128. I liked it so much I ordered a second for my C64.
Bought the mechanical A1200 keyboard at VCF midwest this past year. Just got it installed and man this thing is epic! Great to type on and the mechanical key switches are fantastic. They have just enough resistance to give a satisfying low click but not so loud that people will hear you typing in the next room. Installed in a new A1200.net case and fits great. Ribbon cable and LED cable fit no problem. If you want a great experience on your A1200 setup buy this keyboard!
I've been looking at this for a while and finally pulled the trigger. Wow, I'm impressed with the quality and function of this drive! The drives operate quietly and you can see and appreciate the attention to detail. It works very well and this is a great addition to my Commodore systems.
My VIC-20 is now happy with a new Drive. Arrived in a good packaged box, works as expected very good. Great work!
Not much to say, it just works. Nicely built and easy to use.
First off, I need to say that even offering something like this is unreal! This is something Commodore should have released back in the day, and they probably would have sold tons of them. Not sure I really needed it, but I definitely had to have it.
When I first unpacked the unit, the first thing I noticed was the quality of the 3d printed case. It is an extremely high-quality print! It’s much better than anything I can do with my own equipment. I plugged it in and ran the drive through its paces. I first copied several DS/DD disks back and forth between the drives and then ran a demo that loads multiple images one after the other continuously on both drives. After a few hours, I was satisfied. Everything worked flawlessly. Since it has PC drive mechanisms, I decided to try HD disks. Copied to and from them, and everything worked perfectly. Still have quite a few DS/DD disks which are holding up well, but I had to know if I could use HD disks. Not sure unit is rated for HD disks or how well they will hold up, but so far so good.
I did notice a minor problem with the LEDs. Bitbinders were very quick to respond and took care of it immediately.
Unfortunately, I had problems with receiving the drive via USPS. No fault of Bitbinders. They stayed on top of it to make sure everything was resolved, which it was.
Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with the drive and the support. Great company to deal with.
This power supply is very reassuring to this old equipment. Watching the display may not “do” anything for the way it runs, but is nice visual for when I turn on the computer each time. I bought both a C64 and a C128 power brick. While they get warm, they don’t feel hot. Probably won’t find out if they last as well as this old stuff as another 30 years I probably will be beyond caring anymore!
What can I say, excellent service and the quality of the drive is outstanding. Highly recommended.
I received the disk drive in a well packaged box and got it hooked up to my C64 and it works great. No I wish I had bought two! Well built, look great and runs really nice.
Very happy with my 1581DV and 64 Power supply. The 1581 DV works perfectly with my Ultimate 64 and MK2 systems and the 64 Power supply works perfectly with the MK2 setup. If you are looking for peripherals that match the time period but are made of modern parts, look no farther.
